United Way of Milton was founded in 1982, with the purpose of channeling charitable donations to worthwhile local social service agencies whose purpose was to help Milton residents.

We have come a long way from the first, grass roots campaign which raised an impressive $37,000 but our goal remains the same. All funds raised in Milton stay in Milton to subsidize local programs and agencies. Each year our services reach out to more than 10,000 Milton families, children, youth, seniors and those in need.

Last year, we raised over $628,000 but the need continues to grow as the community grows.

United Way of Milton, as it has since the beginning, is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are all dedicated to ensuring its efficient and effective operation. Another volunteer committee assesses each agency application for funding and determines the annual allocations of funds. Teams of volunteers run fundraising events and the annual campaign. All are assisted by a competent core of full time and part time staff who run the day-to-day operations.
