The Challenge: Parental education and support help ensure healthy babies and children and a nurturing environment as families grow.

What we're doing about it:

Agencies serving Milton through United Way funding offer:

• Counselling and support in parent-absent families
• Consultations for families experiencing difficulties coping with life's challenges
• Therapy and support for those who have been abused
• Information services and resources
• Nursery and after-school programs and family resources

Over 400 individuals and family groups received counselling for sexual abuse incidents in Halton last year (Halton Trauma Centre website).
