KELSEY, COOPER and DAYNE - Peer Outreach Support Services & Education

United Way supports our youth . . .

The Challenge: At-risk youth need counseling, access to someone who cares and opportunities to socialize in safe environments.

What we're doing about it:

Through United Way funded agencies, Milton's youth are provided with:

  • Crisis intervention
  • One-on-one/group mentoring
  • Counselling and therapy to help cope with abuse
  • Peer support
  • Youth homelessness outreach to teens involved with the Youth Criminal Justice System
  • Assessment/treatment of problems

8.3% of youth age 15-24 live in low-income families (Report Card on Child Poverty - Halton 2005).
