The "Live United" campaign for 2011 was launched on October 15, 2011 before a crowd of more than hundred local residents, businesspeople, United Way funded agencies and recipients of service. The campaign goal of $660,171 was unveiled by an enthusiastic group of girls from Girls Inc., a United Way funded agency.

The fundraising is already past the 25 percent mark with cheques presented at the event by Mayor Gord Krantz for $164,500 raised from the Mayor's Golf Tournament for United Way, representing the public fundraising events sector; Roxul Inc. president Trent Ogilvie with a $10,000 pledge, to kick off the corporate campaign; and a cheque from Lianne Krane for $4,750 as a personal donation.
